One of the most exciting internal auditing networking events of the year, the 19th Southern African Internal Audit Conference, took place at the Sandton Convention Centre between the 15th and 17th of August.
The theme of this year’s conference was ‘Positioning for Multiple Futures’. The conference was, as always, a great opportunity for experts to network, share ideas, discuss best practices and get a global perspective of the internal auditing industry.
BarnOwl were proud to sponsor at the event and it was great to touch base with many new prospective and existing clients. We have definitely seen an increase in the number of organisations looking to automate their audit processes, and also looking more and more at the integration between risk, compliance and audit. The list of speakers at the 3-day conference included the likes of Mark Victor from Deloitte, Sinaye Nxumalo from City of Johannesburg, Steven Cohen from Sage One International, Leigh Roberts from Integrated Reporting Committee of South Africa and Terry Tselane from The IEC.
We also had a lucky draw to win a Kindle. The lucky winner was Tebatso Kgowana from Limpopo Provincial Treasury. Congratulations.
As BarnOwl we are very proud to be associated with the Institute of Internal Audit South Africa and to have been a sponsor of such a prestigious event.
